Colleagues,
We have been seeing a rise in the number of proposals coming in for this year’s UC Tech conference, have you submitted yours? If you still plan to get your presentation idea to us you have one more week to submit your session proposal by CoB on Tuesday, Feb. 21 (note this changed from Feb. 20, a UC holiday).
Info Sessions
Want to learn more about how to submit a winning UC Tech session proposal from experienced presenters? Join one or both of the following sessions provided by our co-hosts at UCSF to get tips and techniques to make your proposal stand out from the crowd. These sessions are available in addition to your campus’s own efforts to assist with the proposal process.
Proposal Preparation
Here is some helpful info as you prepare to fill out the proposal form:
-
Proposals will be accepted from members of the UC community only (no sponsors or vendors please unless presenting as part of a UC team's session).
-
You will need a title for your presentation (aim for less than 10 words) along with a description of your session (less than 300 words).
-
This will be a hybrid event. Think about the format for your presentation and what content you will be covering to help decide if it would be best delivered in person or virtually. Here are the session format options:
-
Active Learning/Experiential (45 minutes)
-
Moderated Panel (45 minutes)
-
Presentation with Discussion (45 minutes)
-
Skills Development/Practice (90-minute mini-tutorial)
-
You’ll choose a program track related to your presentation proposal. Need inspiration? View examples of topics for each track as well as info on how you can deliver an accessible and inclusive presentation.
-
Community Building
-
Cultural Strategies
-
Future of IT
-
Health IT
-
Research, Computing & Data
-
Security & Privacy
-
Teaching & Learning
-
Presentations will be selected based on relevance, subject-matter expertise of presenter(s), and the number of concurrent sessions needed. Proposals that reflect this year’s theme of Resilient, Rising & Reinspired will take priority in the selection process.
-
If your presentation is selected, you'll have access to the registration system to be able to make edits to your title, and description, add your bio, photo, and more.
-
Conference registration will be waived for presenters. In the case where there are multiple presenters for a single session, one conference registration will be waived for the primary presenter (listed first in the form).
-
Ready? Submit your proposal by Feb. 21: Google Form | Text Only Form.
